WanderMate Terms of Service

Welcome to WanderMate. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to the WanderMate mobile application and related services (the “App” or “Services”). The App is provided by the developer or operator shown on the App Store product page (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

Please read these Terms and the WanderMate Privacy Policy before using the App. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the App.

1. Service Description

WanderMate is an outdoor activity companion app mainly for walking, hiking, and outdoor activity records. Depending on your version, region, device capabilities, and permissions, the App may provide:

  • Route recording, map display, distance, elevation, speed, duration, and activity summaries;
  • Activity moments, text notes, photo records, and share posters;
  • WeatherKit weather, temperature, humidity, UV index, and similar environmental information;
  • Apple HealthKit step count and heart rate reading, plus workout and route writing;
  • Live Activities, widgets, notifications, and activity status display;
  • Account sign-in, profiles, subscriptions, in-app purchases, credits, and entitlement management;
  • Image/video generation, receipt analysis, file upload, or other experimental or extended features.
  • We may improve, adjust, suspend, or discontinue certain features over time. Some features may require sign-in, internet access, subscriptions, credits, device permissions, or third-party service support.

2. Accounts and Eligibility

You should ensure that you have the legal capacity to use the App and agree to these Terms. If you are a minor, you should use the App with consent and guidance from a parent or legal guardian.

You are responsible for account information, sign-in credentials, and device security. Do not share your account or allow others to impersonate you. If you discover account theft, unauthorized access, or another security issue, contact us promptly.

You promise to provide truthful, accurate, and complete information and to update it when it changes.

3. Outdoor Safety and Health Notice

The App records and helps display outdoor activity information. It is not a medical device, rescue tool, navigation guarantee, life-safety system, or professional training advice.

You understand and agree that:

  • Route, distance, elevation, speed, weather, UV index, heart rate, steps, energy, and similar data may be affected by devices, sensors, GPS, network, terrain, system permissions, and third-party services, and may be delayed, inaccurate, or interrupted;
  • Weather, maps, and route displays are for reference only and cannot replace on-site judgment, official warnings, professional navigation, or rescue services;
  • Outdoor activities involve inherent risks, including getting lost, falls, weather changes, heat, cold, dehydration, wilderness conditions, and physical discomfort;
  • You should make safety decisions based on your health, equipment, experience, environment, and official information;
  • If you feel unwell or encounter an emergency, stop the activity immediately and contact medical, rescue, or local emergency services.
  • You assume the risks of using the App for outdoor activities. We are not liable for losses caused by relying on App data or ignoring real-world conditions, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

4. Permissions and Device Requirements

Some App features require location, health, notifications, photos, camera, or other system permissions. You can change authorization in iOS Settings at any time. If you deny or withdraw certain permissions, related features may not work properly.

You are responsible for ensuring your device, battery, network, system version, Apple ID, HealthKit, location services, notification settings, and App Store purchase status meet usage needs.

5. User Content

You may create, upload, save, or share text, routes, photos, avatars, prompts, generated results, notes, or other content in the App (“User Content”).

You retain the rights you lawfully hold in User Content. To provide the Services, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, back up, transmit, display, process, transform, and technically maintain User Content as necessary. This license is used only to provide, protect, and improve the App and fulfill legal obligations.

You promise that you own or have obtained the rights needed to upload, use, and share User Content, and that User Content will not infringe another person’s privacy, portrait rights, intellectual property, trade secrets, or other lawful rights.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You must not use the App to:

  • Violate laws, regulations, platform rules, or third-party rights;
  • Upload unlawful, infringing, fraudulent, harassing, hateful, violent, pornographic, malicious, or otherwise inappropriate content;
  • Access, interfere with, disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, scan, attack, or bypass the App, servers, APIs, billing, credits, or security mechanisms without authorization;
  • Impersonate others, falsify identity, abuse registration rewards, cheat, manipulate usage, or conduct fraudulent transactions;
  • Use the App for dangerous, illegal, or professionally regulated scenarios;
  • Use the App in a way that may harm us, other users, third-party services, or the App Store ecosystem.
  • If we believe you violate these Terms, we may restrict, suspend, or terminate your account, access, subscription entitlements, or related services, and may retain, disclose, or transfer relevant records when necessary.

7. Subscriptions, In-App Purchases, and Credits

The App may offer auto-renewable subscriptions, one-time purchases, credit packs, or consumable items. Specific prices, benefits, periods, trials, discounts, and availability are as shown on the App Store or in-app purchase page.

7.1 Apple payments

All iOS in-app purchase and subscription payments are processed by Apple and subject to Apple Media Services Terms, App Store rules, and your Apple ID settings. We do not collect or store your complete payment information.

7.2 Auto-renewable subscriptions

If you purchase an auto-renewable subscription:

  • The subscription renews automatically for the period shown on the purchase page unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends;
  • Renewal fees are charged through your Apple ID account;
  • You can cancel or manage subscriptions in iOS Settings or the App Store subscription management page;
  • Deleting the App or your WanderMate account does not automatically cancel Apple subscriptions;
  • Free trial or promotional eligibility is determined by Apple and the App Store display.

7.3 Restore purchases and entitlements

You may restore purchases in the App or through App Store supported methods. Subscription or purchase entitlements may require internet access, sign-in, Apple transaction status, RevenueCat, or our backend services to sync before taking effect.

7.4 Credits and consumption

Credits may be used for specified in-app features. Unless clearly stated on the purchase page or required by applicable law, credits have no cash value, are not transferable, cannot be redeemed for cash, and cannot be used outside the App. Some features may be delayed, fail, or refund credits due to processing failures, risk controls, network issues, or third-party service limits, as reflected in in-app records.

7.5 Refunds

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request refunds through Apple’s Report a Problem or subscription management channels. Except where required by applicable law, we cannot directly process Apple payment refunds.

8. Third-Party Services

The App may integrate Apple, Supabase, RevenueCat, OneSignal, OpenPanel, Cloudflare R2, maps, weather, AI, or other third-party services. Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies.

We do not control third-party service content, availability, accuracy, fees, policies, or processing. If third-party service failures, policy changes, network issues, account restrictions, or force majeure cause unavailable features, delayed data, or entitlement sync issues, we will make reasonable efforts to assist but are not liable beyond what law requires.

9. Intellectual Property

Software, interfaces, icons, trademarks, text, images, designs, code, database structures, and other content in the App, except User Content or third-party content, are owned by us or the relevant rights holders. Without written permission from us or the rights holders, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, reverse engineer, create derivative works, or use them for unauthorized commercial purposes.

These Terms do not transfer the App or related intellectual property to you. We grant you only a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices according to these Terms.

10. Privacy

We handle your information according to the WanderMate Privacy Policy. Please read it before using the App. By using the App, you understand that we collect, use, store, and share information as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Service Changes, Interruptions, and Termination

We may update, suspend, restrict, or terminate all or part of the Services for product planning, technical, security, legal, platform policy, or business reasons.

You may stop using the App at any time and may delete your account in the App. After account deletion, you may no longer access data, entitlements, or history associated with the account. Deleting an account does not automatically cancel Apple subscriptions; you must cancel them in the App Store or iOS Settings.

If you violate these Terms or we believe continued service presents security, legal, fraud, or platform risks, we may suspend or terminate your access.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that:

  • The Services will always be uninterrupted, error-free, delay-free, or absolutely secure;
  • GPS, health, weather, maps, AI, notifications, subscription, or credit data will be absolutely accurate;
  • The App will meet all of your specific purposes, training goals, health goals, or safety needs;
  • Third-party services will remain available or their data will be accurate and complete.
  • The App does not provide medical, legal, financial, insurance, rescue, professional navigation, or professional outdoor safety advice.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, lost profits, data loss, physical injury, outdoor activity risks, or third-party service issues arising from use of or inability to use the App.

If applicable law does not allow complete exclusion of certain liability, our liability will be limited to the lowest extent permitted by law.

14. Indemnity

If claims, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arise from your breach of these Terms, unlawful use of the App, infringement of third-party rights, upload of inappropriate User Content, or misuse of the Services, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless to the extent allowed by applicable law.

15. Apple-Related Terms

You understand that these Terms are between you and us only, and Apple is not a party to these Terms. Apple is not responsible for App maintenance, support, content, claims, or services. Your use of the App must also follow Apple Media Services Terms, App Store rules, and software license requirements applicable to Apple devices.

If these Terms conflict with mandatory App Store requirements from Apple, Apple’s mandatory requirements prevail.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

The governing law and dispute resolution approach for these Terms will follow the developer/operator location shown on the App Store product page, mandatory consumer protection laws in your location, and applicable platform rules.

17. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. After updates, we will publish the new version in the App, on the website, or in another reasonable place and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated by in-app notice, email, or another reasonable method. Continued use of the App means you accept the updated Terms.
